Dante is President and chief executive officer of the firm. He is an experienced trial lawyer who represents clients in complex matters locally, nationally and internationally, often involving highly technical factual and legal issues in the fields of admiralty and maritime law, aviation, commercial and business disputes, and major court litigation and arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Mattioni’s maritime law experience includes such diverse matters as a ship grounding in the Strait of Magellan, with its attendant severe ship hull damage, cargo loss, pollution and marine general average claims; the loss of a tanker in the Delaware River by fire and explosion; tripping and sinking of a tug in San Juan, Puerto Rico and a commercial product liability claim caused by design and manufacturing defects in a supertanker engaged in the Alaskan trades.
Dante was principle attorney in the firm’s representation of the city of Chester, PA in its efforts to establish a recycling plant including trash-to-steam technology. This involved all aspects of the project from environmental and permitting to business, contracting, condemnation, energy sales and securities law.
His experience in commercial and business transactions and litigation is
equally diverse.
Mr. Mattioni is also active in the firm’s business, real estate and corporate
practice, working with the business group in providing support in business
counseling and problem solving. For example, Mr. Mattioni successfully
defended an insurance company against a garnishment action by a holder of
a $3.7 million personal injury judgment seeking payment under the insurer’s
rental car coverage, recovering a favorable settlement.
In addition to his accomplishments as a litigator, Mr. Mattioni is a civic leader who has served in many charitable and civic programs, most notably as Chairman of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains. He served as a representative to the Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention in 1967-68; Assistant District Attorney; Member of the Board of the Philadelphia Housing Authority; Member of the Board of Directors of the Maritime Exchange for the Delaware River and Bay; Deputy Attorney General for the Eastern Region of Pennsylvania covering a nine county area; and on numerous boards and commissions. He has been a teacher, lecturer and author in such diverse fields as criminal, maritime, corporate, marine environmental and civil litigation and general trial practice subjects. He has received awards and recognition for professional achievement and service to the community, most recently as “Man of the Year” by the Maritime Society of the Ports of Philadelphia, and the “Spirit of the Port Award” of the Seaman’s Church Institute.
Mr. Mattioni brings a special blend of diverse practical experience and
scholarship to the practice of law. He has served aboard numerous U. S.
flag merchant vessels as an officer, and aboard two U. S. Navy attack transports.
He earned his Master Mariner’s license, oceans and tonnage unlimited in
1958.

Faust’s practice is in the fields of admiralty and maritime law, business and commercial litigation. Mr. Mattioni oversees the firm’s maritime practice group. He also represents business interests in the Internet and health care industries. He is active in the firm’s business, commercial, real estate and corporate practice and works with the business group in providing business counseling and advice.
Mr. Mattioni has participated in numerous civic and political endeavors, served as a member of the State Board of Public Accounting, and was a teacher and lecturer in business and commercial law.
Also a former mariner, Mr. Mattioni was awarded his Chief Officer’s license
in 1960, and served as a Deck Officer on various U. S. flag merchant vessels
in worldwide trades. His shipboard experience has included general and bulk
cargoes of all types.
JOHN MATTIONI

John’s practice includes environmental, commercial and municipal law. He has served as County Solicitor to Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and has been a past assistant and Deputy City Solicitor to the City of Philadelphia. As the firm’s senior environmental counsel, he has been active in this field for more than 20 years, and has litigated numerous mixed environmental/commercial cases, as well as providing advice and counsel to the firm’s business clients. He is Editor and co-author of the Pennsylvania Environmental Law Handbook, which is now in its Fifth Edition.
Mr. Mattioni is also active in the firm’s business, commercial, real estate and corporate practice, working with the business group and actively representing a variety of business interests which have included real estate developers, amusement park owners, shopping center operators and a catering hall, among others.
In addition Mr. Mattioni handles litigation in the areas of admiralty and maritime law, commercial, business and general litigation before courts, administrative agencies and in various forms of alternative dispute resolution.
A former mariner, Mr. Mattioni was issued his Chief Officer’s license and
served in the North Atlantic trades transporting vehicles and general cargoes.
His maritime litigation experience encompasses all areas, including ship
conversion disputes in arbitration, business and commercial transactions,
cargo and injury claims.
BLASCO MATTIONI

Blasco practices in the areas of estate planning and administration, consumer transactions, real estate, collections, and business and commercial law. He is also involved in general litigation in commercial and business fields. In addition, Mr. Mattioni represents a variety of business interests, and provides advice and counsel to the business group and the firm’s clients in business, commercial and real estate matters.
Mr. Mattioni is a retired Commander, USN, having completed twenty years
in the United States Navy. He served in various combat vessels, including
command of the submarine USS Angler. His service included engineering management
posts in several naval shipyards and in the Pentagon. As a result of
his extensive engineering background, he provides assistance on complicated
engineering issues and problems, with special emphasis on marine and electrical
engineering applications. He also serves as counsel to the firm.
EUGENE MATTIONI

Gene concentrates his practice in general litigation, admiralty and maritime law, workers compensation, including Longshoreman and Harbor Workers Compensation Act claims, and other employee benefits and ERISA claims defense. He has extensive experience in toxic poisoning claims. His maritime practice has included defense of collision, cargo, oil and chemical pollution and marine personal injury claims, workers compensation, and the investigation of numerous complex maritime casualties.
As a licensed Master Mariner for oceans, unlimited tonnage, Mr. Mattioni has had practical experience in ship handling and marine related business, commercial and litigation matters. His maritime experience includes worldwide service as a deck officer with general cargoes, container ship operations and vessel management. He has written and lectured in the fields of workers compensation, with particular emphasis on the Longshoreman’s and Harbor Workers Compensation Act and work-related employee claims.

With his exceptional classical and religious education, and his special
language skills, Francis’s practice has concentrated in scholarly research
and appellate matters. He provides assistance to the firm in virtually
all areas of practice, including admiralty and maritime, commercial, business
disputes and in general litigation. He is the firm’s principal appellate
practitioner. He has provided litigation support in those matters which call
for his particular expertise, including his mastery of several foreign languages.
Dr. Kelly is fluent in Italian and Spanish, and reads, speaks and is a teacher
of Latin.

George’s practice is concentrated in admiralty and maritime, insurance, and transportation law. He handles commercial matters involving maritime casualty recoveries, cargo damage, personal injury and death claims, marine salvage claims, and all aspects of recreational vessel claims. Mr. Zacharkow also handles first party insurance disputes, air and motor carrier matters, and non-marine recovery claims involving fires, flooding/water damage, and structural failure. He oversees the firm’s subrogation group. Mr. Zacharkow represents clients in the courts of the tri-state region and in other areas of the country.
Mr. Zacharkow is an active member of the Maritime Law Association of the
United States, and currently is serving as vice chairman of the cargo insurance
subcommittee. His previous experience with an insurance adjusting
company has provided a strong analytical base which complements his
work in the field.

Andrew concentrates his practice in the field of admiralty law, primarily in defense of personal injury and death claims involving merchant seamen, passengers, longshoremen and harbor workers. He has extensive experience in the investigation of maritime claims, and is also involved in general litigation, including defense of product liability, premises liability and negligence claims, as well as contract and construction matters. He completed a specialized program in litigation and received a degree in trial advocacy from the Temple University School of Law in 1994.
Andrew is a former mariner and officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve who attained
his Second Assistant Marine Engineer’s license and served aboard various
U.S. merchant vessels before pursuing shoreside employment. He has
a graduate degree in business administration, and spent ten years as a Project
Engineer and Project Manager in the construction industry for a major mechanical
construction firm. While so employed, he attended law school at night,
and then began the practice of law in 1981. Mr. Quinn has been active
in the local maritime community and has served as a director of the National
Alumni Association for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. He brings
a unique blend of practical maritime and business experience to the practice
of law.

Eva is a senior trial attorney who practices primarily in the fields of general civil litigation, toxic torts, occupational disease, professional negligence and other personal injury. She has highly developed skills in medico-legal research and analysis, premised upon her many years of experience and advanced education in professional nursing.
As a registered nurse with practical experience in psychiatric and pediatric
nursing, and in providing nursing care services to exceptional children,
Ms. Bleich brings a strong appreciation of the medical and nursing care communities
to her practice. She has also served as an Assistant Administrator
and as a Director of Nursing, allowing her to understand the special problems
unique to the delivery of health care services. This practical experience
is of particular benefit to the evaluation of personal injury and emotional
damages claims.

Bob concentrates his practice in all phases of environmental law, with particular emphasis in the negotiation and implementation of environmental provisions of commercial contracts. He has also participated in numerous complex environmental and commercial cases requiring a strong understanding and appreciation of the interplay between modern environmental statutes and regulations and the common law remedies available in cases involving pollution claims.
In his work, Mr. Weidner combines his experience in structuring transactions
to properly address environmental concerns with his experience in superfund
litigation and disputes resolution of environmental claims by governmental
agencies. He has hands-on experience in environmental investigations,
compliance audits and counseling, and was instrumental in the successful
preparation and acceptance of a hazardous waste facility closure and post-closure
plan, as well as work in the preparation and review of corrective action and
remedial action plans, and preparation of specialized contracts for the delivery
of environmental consulting services. He is also one of the authors of the
Pennsylvania Environmental Law Handbook. This combined experience permits
Mr. Weidner to provide sound advice and counsel to the firm’s environmental,
business and commercial clients.
SCOTT J. SCHWARZ

Scott concentrates in environmental law with particular emphasis in regulatory compliance and litigation. He has been involved in many of the original federal Superfund sites and has participated in environmental insurance litigation. He has also participated in the negotiation of numerous commercial agreements, nationally and internationally, involving environmentally sensitive subject matter.
Mr. Schwarz worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the development of its original hazardous waste regulations. He served in the White Collar Crime Unit for the District Attorney of Montgomery, Alabama, and later as Special Executive Assistant on environmental matters and Deputy Attorney General for the Alabama State Attorney General’s office. His experience includes involvement in over fifty hazardous waste enforcement proceedings in twenty-one states as well as administrative proceedings involving enforcement of municipal waste regulations and agency rule-making.
Mr. Schwarz is a co-author of the Pennsylvania Environmental Law Handbook,
has frequently published articles in various professional and trade journals,
and appears as a lecturer in environmental law subjects. His scientific
education and governmental and private experience provides a firm foundation
for managing and resolving environmental issues.

Tony’s practice concentrates in the area of general litigation, with emphasis
on commercial litigation, and prosecution and defense of personal injury
claims, including products liability. He has been involved in the development,

industry and manufacture of consumer products and machinery, including various
types of vehicles and power tools. His practice includes federal and
state courts as well as private arbitration and other forms of alternative
dispute resolution in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Steve’s practice area is primarily in admiralty and maritime litigation and business transactions. He participates in difficult investigations of marine casualties involving collisions, allisions, groundings and strandings, as well as marine personal injury and death claims involving passengers, seamen, longshoremen, repairmen and other maritime workers.
Mr. Galati also handles marine business and commercial transactions and litigation as well as prosecuting and defending claims involving oil and chemical spills, U.S. Coast Guard license and other administrative actions and proceedings.
Trained as a merchant mariner, Steve has his Third Mate’s license, unlimited, and is a Lieutenant USNR.

Joe’s practice is concentrated in general litigation, with emphasis in

Mike’s practice is in the areas of business including corporate and other business organizations, real estate, land use, taxation and estate planning. The firm represents numerous small businesses in such diverse fields as catering, shopping center ownership and management, marine delivery and supply, towage, beverage dispensing, real estate, insurance brokerage, retail sales, courier services, equipment sales and manufacturing, sealants and gaskets, trucking and land transportation, and numerous others. Mr. Mattioni is responsible for representing primarily or through coordinating with other attorneys in the firm these diverse business clients. This includes advice and counseling regarding shareholder and other ownership agreements; and mergers, acquisitions and other business combinations. In addition, he has developed a substantial practice in the area of real estate (purchase and sale or disposition of property, leases and development) and land use planning and development, appearing before boards and commissions in applications for zoning and land use approvals in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties of Pennsylvania.
With his education in finance and business, and an advanced law degree

Ron provides special advice and counsel to the firm in the areas of administrative and government law and relations, and in the areas of zoning and land use planning.
Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Donatucci was a law clerk in the Philadelphia City Solicitor’s Office and was later counsel to the Philadelphia Parking Authority. He was Chief of Enforcement for the Department of Licenses and Inspections for the City of Philadelphia. Following these appointive offices, Mr. Donatucci was elected and served with distinction as a Member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 185th District. Since his election in 1980, he has served as Philadelphia’s Register of Wills.
Mr. Donatucci’s long government service provides insight to the firm for
interfacing with governmental agencies and authorities.

Judge Sereni is the former President Judge of the Court of Common Pleas
of Delaware County, where he served for many years with distinction.
Before his ascent to the bench, Judge Sereni represented clients in diverse
civil matters, as well as in the criminal law arena. Judge Sereni
was elected President Judge Pro-Tem in February 1995, and thereafter to a
full five year term in January 1996. He served on the bench from 1990,
before retiring January 2, 2000.
Before election to the bench, Judge Sereni served at different times as
Solicitor to the Southeast Delaware County Municipal Authority, Delaware
County Board of Assessment, Township of Darby, Haverford Township, as well
as Assistant District Attorney, Master Child Abuse Hearings, and as a Hearing
Examiner, Pennsylvania Labor Board. He also represented private
litigants in various complex civil and criminal matters over a wide range
of legal disciplines.
In addition to his diverse activities as a public servant, Judge Sereni
is a Board Member of Penn State University, Delaware County Campus, Lincoln
University, the ARC of Delaware County and the Justinian Society of Delaware
County. He is also Chairman, State Attorney General’s Task Force on
School Safety.
Judge Sereni brings a new dimension to the firm. In his role of Counsel
to the Firm, he will be a mentor to the firm’s lawyers, as well as providing
the full benefit of his many years service to the community and as a Judge
and accomplished trial lawyer.

Mr. Yun’s practice is primarily in the areas of international, admiralty and maritime law, immigration, commercial, real estate, contract, and complex business transactions. He has significant experience in various investments, mergers and acquisitions, review of investment portfolios including real estate, business and capitalization.
Mr. Yun is currently involved in a multinational resort project, development of high-end golf courses, import and export, investment in a drug research center involving neurological and psychiatric treatment, computer-digitizing and photo-finishing business and in the development of an assisted-living community.
Mr. Yun was born in South Korea and studied several languages including Turkish, Russian, French, and Chinese. He is fluent in English and Korean. After arriving in the United States in 1984, he earned his Master’s Degree in International Relations, specializing in the Soviet Union and Eastern European Studies.
Mr. Yun has held numerous civic offices, including counsel to many Korean-American
organizations in the United States and acted as chairman of the Philadelphia
Chapter of the Korean Institute for Human Rights. He was actively involved
in the Korean Democracy Movement.

Kristi’s practice is concentrated in environmental law, where she has been involved in general regulatory and enforcement matters, as well as in assisting in performing environmental due diligence in several acquisitions.
Previously, Ms. Treadway was a staff attorney for the Environmental Defense
Fund, and served as Assistant Attorney General in the West Virginia Attorney
General’s Division of Environment and Energy. She is a co-author
of the Pennsylvania Environmental Law Handbook and has been a lecturer in
several environmental seminars.

Dante is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
and his practice includes all aspects of Intellectual Property law including
federal and state litigation, appeals, patent and trademark prosecution,
licensing and client counseling. Before joining the firm, Dante worked
as an electrical design engineer in the manufacturing and machine design
fields. Dante’s practice includes general litigation with a particular
emphasis in Business litigation, Insurance, Intellectual Property and Admiralty
and Maritime law including vessel and equipment damage claims, personal injury,
Jones Act defense matters. He is also called upon to assist in technical
matters involving engineering applications.

Andrew is assigned to general civil practice, with emphasis on real estate,
business and commercial matters, estate administration and litigation support.
Andrew served a one-year term as a law clerk for nearly thirty-five administrative
law judges at the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law located in Trenton
and Newark, New Jersey. Thereafter, he served as a Legal Specialist/Regulatory
Officer with the New Jersey Real Estate Commission, where he advised and
assisted the Commission in preparing regulations governing the real estate
industry, and prosecuted disciplinary actions and license denial appeals
at formal administrative hearings before the Commission.

Christian’s practice concentrates in business transactions, commercial and real estate law.
