Scranton – B.S. - 1987 Tom concentrates in estate planning and estate administration, counseling families, individuals and business owners in the range of issues surrounding the preservation and transfer of assets during life and upon death. In addition to preparing estate planning documents such as wills, trust agreements, durable powers of attorney and health care proxies, Tom assists clients in planning for the disposition of assets in a tax advantaged manner and planning for the succession or sale of a family business. He provides advice concerning the naming of guardians to raise minor children and the appointment of fiduciaries to handle minors’ assets. Tom handles the administration of estates, trusts and guardianship matters. Tom has been practicing law for nearly twenty (20) years. Prior to joining the firm, he was a shareholder in his own firm. He also managed the in-house legal department of a publicly-traded, nationwide financial services provider. Tom has an extensive litigation background in a variety of practice areas, having tried cases to verdict in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. With his litigation experience, Tom is particularly well suited to handle disputes which arise with respect to wills, the administration of estates and trusts and related disputes. He has served as a court-appointed arbitrator for the New Jersey Superior Court and the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, and is frequently selected as an arbitrator and mediator by private litigants. Tom is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Tax and Real Property, Probate Sections, and has served as a Certified Volunteer Tax Preparer for the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Campaign for Working Families. |
