Gene concentrates his practice in general litigation, admiralty and maritime law, workers compensation, including Longshoreman and Harbor Workers Compensation Act claims, and other employee benefits and ERISA claims defense. He has extensive experience in toxic poisoning claims. His maritime practice has included defense of collision, cargo, oil and chemical pollution and marine personal injury claims, workers compensation, and the investigation of numerous complex maritime casualties.

As a licensed Master Mariner for oceans, unlimited tonnage, Mr. Mattioni has had practical experience in ship handling and marine related business, commercial and litigation matters. His maritime experience includes worldwide service as a deck officer with general cargoes, container ship operations and vessel management. He has written and lectured in the fields of workers compensation, with particular emphasis on the Longshoreman’s and Harbor Workers Compensation Act and work-related employee claims.
